DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The man accused of shooting and decapitating his father in their home northeast of Philadelphia and posting a video of the severed head on social media purchased a gun the previous day, the county prosecutor said Friday. She said an autopsy showed that his father had been shot in the head before he was decapitated with a knife and machete. His mother discovered the remains of her husband, Michael F. Mohn, in the Levittown home where the three lived together. In the YouTube video, Justin Mohn picked up his father's head and identified him. Cellphone signals helped locate him, according to Angela Watson, communications director for the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A man in Pennsylvania has been charged with first-degree murder and abusing a corpse after his father was found decapitated and police are investigating a video on social media that allegedly shows him holding up the head, authorities said Wednesday. The father was found beheaded in the bathroom of his home in Bucks County's Middletown Township on Tuesday night. Police said the son, identified as Justin Mohn, 32, was arrested about 100 miles (161 kilometers) away in Fort Indiantown Gap. Pete Feeney of the Middletown Township Police Department said. Detectives are investigating a video, allegedly posted by Mohn, that shows him holding up what appears to be his father's head and making threats against federal law enforcement agencies, Feeney said.

Police started investigating Mohn after a man in his 60s was found beheaded and covered in blood Tuesday, CNN affiliate WPVI reported. The suspect was identified as the victim’s son, Middletown Township Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla told CNN. “YouTube has strict policies prohibiting graphic violence and violent extremism,” the company told CNN Wednesday in a statement. “The video was removed for violating our graphic violence policy and Justin Mohn’s channel was terminated in line with our violent extremism policies. “I think the neighborhood can rest easy because I think they were a little uneasy for a while, before they knew where the person of interest was,” he told WPVI overnight.

The pilot of the F-35 fighter jet that went missing ejected and landed in the backyard of a South Carolina home. The Associated Press reported that the pilot parachuted safely into the backyard on Sunday. The pilot was forced to eject from the F-35B Lightning II jet during a training mishap. Local news outlet WMBF reported parts of the aircraft were found near Bartells Road in Indiantown, South Carolina. "The debris was discovered two hours northeast of Joint Base Charleston," officials from the base said in a statement emailed to Insider. A single F-35B jet costs about $80 million, depending on its weapons configuration, The Washington Post reported. On August 24, an F/A-18 fighter jet crashed in San Diego, California, killing its pilot. The F-35B is not the first fighter jet to fly pilotless after its crew ejected, Insider previously reported.

Some states are even moving ahead with proposals or ballot measures to legalize weed, putting them within arms' reach of having recreational markets. These are the states that have a chance to legalize adult-use marijuana in the coming years. OhioOhio may vote on whether to legalize recreational marijuana in November. Haren said the proposal also plans to build upon Ohio's medical marijuana program and issue additional adult use licenses to new companies.
